Even as he began to shake his head, he began to make himself at least a bit more comfortable, easing himself down onto the floor opposite Lucy, folding his legs in an awkward Indian style that had his knees sticking out on sharp angles. But it allowed him to place his arms on either leg, and he sighed with contentment. Whatever seemed strange to someone else was quite comfortable for him.
"Nah - no need to get fancy for the likes of me. Tables are overrated." Felix was still wriggling around, trying to find that perfect spot, and seemed more like a very impatient toddler preparing for story time than a boy of seventeen. "There - much better." He was hardly out of good humor before, but he really felt much better settled on the floor.
"Depends on if you actually believe I think or not. It's sort of a divided thing. Like, if you're certain members of my family, well - the idea that I even have a brain would be debatable, Ravenclaw or no. " He pretended to think about it. "Well - nowhere, I suppose. And everywhere. I mean, it's not good if there's only one place you can really think, right? You always have to be able to, kinda."

Lucy smiled as he sat down, sitting opposite him. She leaned against the shelf behind her and brought her knees up wrapping her arms around them. She shook her head a bit with a smile when he joked about whether or not he thinks, and smirked when he talked about having to be able to think everywhere. "Not necessarily...for all you know, this could be the only place I'm able to think. Then again, that would be very unfortunate." She smiled. "I just meant more of, where do you find yourself most comfortable and able to come up with your more brilliant ideas that you're unable to figure out what to do with." She shrugged. "But if there isn't a place that's fine. Open to sharing one of these ideas?" She asked curiously.

He hadn't thought about that, actually - which really brought up the idea that maybe he didn't think at all and gave it a much more solid argument. Sometimes things just slipped - but he hadn't actually meant to accidentally insult Lucy by stating a personal philosophy that he wasn't even sure he actually stood by.
"I mean, well - There, you see. Wasn't thinking. Proved myself wrong." Felix worked to try and cover himself, in case what he had said indeed insulted her. "But it is kinda true - I mean, maybe you do really food thinking in the loo - but you have to think everywhere else too, don'tcha. Else you'll forget some pretty important things, or..." He stopped mid-sentence, realizing that backtracking wouldn't be getting him anywhere anyways.
"I suppose...in bed then. Like, before you fall asleep. It's the only time this place is really quiet, even in the library. Unless you're next to a snorer - then tough luck, I suppose. But just, lying out on your back lets you clear things up. Problem is going to sleep and being able to remember them in the morning."

“I know exactly what you mean!” Lucy exclaimed, a little too enthusiastically. “I always have to keep a quill and some parchment next to my bed, just in case. Never know when I find the perfect words to add to an essay or anything like that, and too many a time I’ve figured I’ll just remember in the morning and then I totally forget until, well say, after I’ve already submitted the essay or something. It’s dreadfully frustrating.” She smiled, tucking some of her hair behind her ears. She wondered if she should ask him again about any of his ideas or if she should just wait and see what he’d have to say next. Finally she figured it was best to keep her mouth shut for the moment.

"Really! So it's not just me then! Good, I was thinkin' you're going to take me for a nutter." Well, actually...she'd likely have thought him to be a little off way before he admitted his preference to thinking in bed - but you could never know for sure. "All my mates seem to be able to pluck thoughts right off the top o' their heads wherever they are. Drives me batty, lemme tell you. I don't think our lamps in the common room ever go out."
Reclining slightly so that his hands rested on the ground behind him, he looked up, fixing his gaze on the ceiling above him. "That seems kind of useless, though. I mean...I can't exactly make myself go to sleep whenever I need to do something useful. McGonagall'd have my head alone for trying to sleep through her classes!"
