Felix Arthur Macmillian
"You say you want a revolution Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out"

Birth Certificate
Name: Felix Arthur Macmillian
Birthdate: May 19, 1958
Age: 17
Year: 7th
Job: Student
Blood: Pureblood
At First Glance
Hair color: A bronzy-brown color, with hints of darker brown within it – left sort of short and shaggy, but not long or 'girlish'.
Eye color: Dark Brown
Height: 6”5
Distinguishing features: His height, most definitely, is perhaps his biggest distinguishing 'feature' – but his mother always says it's his ears that are pretty recognizable. Apparently, they stick out a bit, 'exactly like your fathers'. (Though he honestly hopes people don't spend hours starring at his ears).
Desired Play-By: Andrew Garfield
Description: Felix has never quite, nor will he ever really grow into his body size. For a seventeen year old, he isn't so much lacking a healthy muscle tone, as he is simply too big for it to catch up with his height. Exceedingly gangly, he appears to be all knees and elbows, with no really gentle edges to speak of. He isn't a sport's player – muggle or magical – but he sports bruises and bumps, as well as various scrapes as badges of honour gained by his height and his ungainliness. Just because he's tall doesn't mean he's extra cautious, and he can be right careless as far as keeping his person safe.
Though many guys would kill for the height, and apparent 'Quidditch God' body – Felix goes the entire other way. He embraces his tallness – it's what has allowed him to reach the top shelves in the library since he was in third year. His height, also, being his most distinguishing feature, means that most people leave him alone, as he looks more intimidating than he really is. As of this past summer, he has gained a bit more color and muscle tone in his upper body – from helping his father in his working landscaping around the house, losing some of his earlier 'peakiness' that he'd gotten from spending an inordinate amount of time indoors.
Style wise, he sticks pretty close to what's 'current' as far as fashions go – although he does have a pair of 'lucky' socks which have seen him through the worst sorts of exams, aka OWLs, which he tends to wear even with things that don't generally match. His parents, being of the middle-class sector of the wizarding world, provide him with enough to be comfortable with how he looks, having a few new things, without being a bloke who fancies a new set of robes each Christmas. There isn't anything particularly special about how he looks as a person – except from a slightly intimidating standpoint.
Tell Me More
Likes:
-- Cassette players - He's got about six of them dismantled in his top drawer at home. Very interesting bits of technology...if only he could figure out how to hook them up with the wireless...
-- Reading - And it does not make him a nerd!
-- Bernice - His owl, who was a owlet he was given when he was eight to 'teach him responsibility'. A frumpy little elf owl who spends more time in Felix's dorm than the owlery, probably because the other owls pick on her...
-- Talking/Debating - He loves talking the ears off of anyone - probably because he's rather fond of the sound of his own voice.
-- Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows - Yes, he's aware this makes him sound like a five year old. No, he doesn't really care.
Arithmancy - His favorite class, mostly because he is extremely good with numbers and the logarithms involved.
Dislikes:
-- Fighting - He will not, does not tolerate it. He won't stop people in a fight, but he'll be the first off to get a professor.
-- Being shown up in class - Which happens quite a bit when magic is concerned, but not often on written or theory questions. He competes to be on top there.
-- House Rivalries - Honestly guys, grow up already and grow a pair - we're all in the same boat when it comes down to it.
-- Quidditch - Really, why the hell does anyone want to go chasing balls through the air riding pieces of wood? National Wizarding passtime his arse!
-- Transfigurations - It's by far his worst subject...and he's currently convinced that most animals he's tried to magic now hate him because of his lack of skill.
Habits/Quirks:
-- Leans against things a lot, particularly if he's talking to someone for extended periods of time.
-- Always crosses his legs whenever relaxing or sitting at a desk/table.
Strengths:
-- Photographic Memory [Very good at remembering pictures or diagrams in a book - as well as bigger events that he's actually witnessed, and whole passages in books. He's very proud of this ability.]
-- Eloquent [Elocution lessons and working in penmanship means he could right a mean essay - he excels in this type of schoolwork, and may or may not written a few of his friends' essays in the past. For the right price, of course...]
-- Dismantling Objects [Particularly muggle electronics. He loves to disassemble things to see how they work. All he needs to master is how to put them back together.]
Weaknesses:
-- Pumpkin [He's allergic – which sucks in a society where it's used in lots of.]
-- Magic [He's not a squib – but it was a near thing. He's not handy with a wand, that's for sure.]
-- Acting/Reacting too quickly [Usually in the form of being too open with people and saying something stupid to the wrong person. Lose lips will one day sink him.]
-- Refuses to Fight [Would rather be punched that defend himself. His thinking? He could hurt someone else by accident easier than he could be hurt.]
Overall Personality:
Felix is the literal definition of a gentle giant. He is large, and an intimidating sort of boy – and chances were if you were foolish enough to get into a fight with him he could pin you quite easily if he wanted to. But that's all he would do – he might hold you back from hitting someone else, or more likely run to get a Professor. He has never openly hit anyone in the past seven years of being in school – and those who he is close with know him as a hard-headed pacifist, who detests any sort of violence.
That being said, he is a rather personable fellow – he likes to talk, just about as much as he likes to read. His thirst of knowledge ends usually in the attempt to perform magic – because he is sadly lacking in prowess in that category. Except perhaps in Arithmancy – he's a veritable wiz with numbers, pun totally intended. He turns his lack of physical power in good-natured stride, and usually talks people down from a fight.
A few might wonder why he was sorted in Ravenclaw, as he seems for of a personable fellow than a scholar - but the truth is the moment you set him down in a theory class or in a test, the boy takes off. He likes to think about odd things, and questions generally keep him up at night. Also, he has a hobby of taking things apart, trying to see how they work - when he was younger he had to get a replacement wand because, seeing how his magic was substantially weaker than some of his classmates, he actually deliberately cracked the wood and tried fiddling with the unicorn hair inside. It did nothing, to his greatest dismay - but he has since come to terms that he's simply made out to be sub-par in that category.
Bring It Home
Father: Arthur 'Artie' Macmillian
Mother: Janie Fitzpatrick Macmillian
Siblings: Felicia Macmillian-Pierce – Pureblood witch, married, 21 Years Old
Other Important People: Dixon Pierce – Halfblood Wizard, married his sister, 23 Years Old
Overall History: Felix's parents achieved the life-long dream of having the perfect family – a little boy, a little girl, and both of them being very smart, and rather well behaved. Felicia was born several years before her brother Felix, but at the same time, as they were growing up, they were quite close. Even though they were nearly attached at the hip as children, it was hard to believe they were related – Felicia was tiny and blonde, while Felix took after their mother more – including her love of reading and most definitely her height.
For a while, it was worried that Felix would be a squib, as he didn't show any promises of magic until nearly his eight birthday (when he accidentally animated a mink stole that was hanging around his auntie's neck). Needless to say, his father and mother were relieved – but he continued to go to Hogwarts and never showed himself as being over average in anything. In theory, on the other hand, Felix devoted himself to become a veritable walking lexicon. Eventually, he started to make a name for himself as someone who's quick with a quote, if not a spell.
His sister before him, Felicia, was a Ravenclaw - and Felix was perfectly happy following in her footsteps afterwards, although at first it perplexed his parents. Their life was generally a quiet one until Felicia announced, on her graduation, that she was moving out to live with her latest beau, Dixon Pierce. As much as Felix does not talk about it, his parents had a rather substantial fight that night - and he realized his father isn't exactly happy with the idea of his daughter 'cavorting' with a half blood. Felix and Felicia are, of course, part of the eighth generation of Macmillian wizards - but even then it didn't seem like it was all that of a big deal.

When working with protective charms, the stronger the desire to protect the person on which the charm is performed, the better the overall effect..
Rereading the passage, he traced the printed words with a long finger, noting where it was and making sure that it was one of those all-important factoids he should be marking down in his notes. It was Felix's routine - one that he had been at for an hour already that morning, and had been putting to good use for the previous six years. Read, Reread, note and write - and repeat several times after that. It was arguably his favorite part of homework-doing, mainly because it was something you didn't really need to think about, or mean, but remember.
With his free hand he scrabbled for the self-inking quill that remained just within reach. The parchment was already littered with cramped shorthand and odd notations that only he was able to read, but he found a relatively clear spot to squeeze in more of his written code, noting it's important with an inky flourish, before he set the quill down and shutting the textbook with a muffled snap. Mornings in the library – particularly September mornings - were by far his favorite. Nobody was too panicked about getting their work done yet - compared to May, where it would be hard to find a single table for himself. Interruptions were few and fare between - which was how he liked them.
One down, several hundred more to go. Even he was beginning to feel slightly daunted about the task of NEWTs at the end of the year. He had six years of knowledge to re-retain - and a new year's to master, as well as spells and charms which were hardly his strong suit. So he thought that book cramming was by far the best to start with - get the easy stuff out of the way, so to speak. Retriving the book from the table top, he pushed his chair back and made to put it back on the shelf, replacing it on the uppermost shelf he'd retrieved it from an hour ago. But rather than snap up the Transfiguration's Encyclopedia next to it, he paused - listening in on a slightly familiar voice in the next aisle.
He grinned. Should've known that his reprieve in the library wouldn't last that long. At least it wasn't someone who was particularly noisy. Shoving a section of books aside, he made a window for himself - one that he could just peer through.
"Home, eh?" He started, without so much as a hello or how or you."I should have knocked then, yeah? I swear I didn't mean to break and enter - and I'll return everything, promise."
