Dismal weather continues. Sirius was not up for spending another day locked inside the castle. Come late afternoon he was faced with one friend swooning over red heads and another over potion books, whilst the third was terrible company solo. He had spent a good hour in the common room discussing their chances in this years Quidditch when the impulse to do something finally got too much for him and Sirius had to move.
Since he and his friends had discovered Remus's secret, they had been working on one of the most beautiful and intricate charms he'd ever seen. That was not, for once, unjustified arrogance. The Marauder's Map was so impressive that he resented having to keep it a secret, even though he knew he always would. Whenever any of them got a chance they would work on the map together, but they also tended to work alone for certain tasks. The map required for instance that the boys have visited every area its line's detailed. So after boredom forced him into action, Sirius decided he would take it upon himself to work on one area solo. Of course, he couldn't choose an easy one.
There were some areas that were probably wiser to do together. The Forbidden Forest was one such area but Sirius desperately needed something exciting to do. Left alone and under-stimulated for too long his thoughts wandered to darker places he'd rather nor revisit. So much in fact that he'd visit the darkest most secluded place in the school to escape such thoughts. True he risked an unfortunate incident, but he was curious just how dangerous the forest could be when Dumbledore casually allowed to remain next to his school. Calling an area forbidden but leaving it bare of any security was not a great tactic dealing with curious teens. Sirius was the perfect example.
Once the little sun they had had set, he began his journey. Their existing information allowed him to slip easily through the school corridors and out of the door unnoticed. He reached the forest without issue and decided to focus on the eastern corner for that night. As quietly as he could, Sirius paced the forest methodically deeper and deeper, wand lit and an innocent looking parchment in hand.

Nothing pleased Ivy more than solitude while doing something forbidden. In this case, breaking the rules for a day in the properly named Forbidden Forest. Ivy started the day by waking up early. She enjoyed a quick, yet relaxingly steamy shower, and dressed in her favorite unconventional flying outfit. Her all black converse were tightly tied in an intricate spider-web lacing. She had on black tights and short black shorts, a tight black tank top that was low cut just enough to reveal the green lacing from her bra. Over her shirt she threw on her black leather jacket, and left it open. She pulled her hair back into a messy ponytail, held together with a green scrunchy. After a quick glance in the mirror, she neglected to do any fancy make-up, figuring, she wasn’t trying to impress anyone anyway, and liked the way she looked.
Ivy headed to the kitchens, as breakfast wasn’t to be served for at least another hour and she was greeted by many obnoxious house elves, which she couldn’t help but roll her eyes out. One of the older house elves, who wasn’t so squeaky or annoying brought over to her the usual food she liked to eat before going out for a day. A piece of buttered toast and a glass of butterbeer to start her day, and then a small bag tricked to hold larger amounts of food, filled with croissant sandwiches, bottled butterbeers, and a few apples. Ivy gave a genuine appreciative smile and thanked the house elf, who silently nodded and left her alone.
Once she had finished her toast, Ivy headed out to the Quidditch Pitch, where she grabbed her broom and took off flying. She did a few laps around the pitch, and then took off over the castle. She flew all over, in-between towers and over the lake, exploring every bit of the air above the castle before finally picking a direction and zooming off over the Forbidden Forest. Ivy was used to the forest, having explored there the past five years, and knew to always keep her wand ready. She flew over the forest, deep into it, where it would be difficult to walk back from, and found her favorite small meadow. She figured she would make that her starting point.
For a forbidden place, the forest was beautiful. There were small bits of it that were absolutely amazing, and wonderful to behold. Like the meadow for example. Interesting flowers grew throughout it and there was a small pond that creatures liked to drink out of. Ivy never bothered them, and they never bothered her. In fact, a centaur or two became her friend during their visits. Ivy landed in the meadow and set her broom down, laying in the grass next to it. She grabbed a butterbeer from her small bag and opened it sipping on it for a while before falling asleep.
When she awoke it was late afternoon, and she was hungry. She ate a sandwich from her bag, and an apple, and left an apple for the centaur she knew would be there later that night. Once she was finished, she picked up her broom and spun around until she got dizzy. Once she stopped spinning she chose that direction and started walking. It was easy to get lost in the forest, but just as easy for her to get out when she had her broom with her. She never ventured into the forest without it.
Ivy walked for hours before she saw a light peeking through some trees a few feet from her. She’d mastered the art of walking silently through the forest so it was no surprise that the figure had not yet noticed her. She pulled out her wand, and sent her broom to fly just above the trees above her so her other hand was free. Silently, she walked until she was just a tree away from the figure and could recognize him. His back was to her and a smirk crept upon her face as she climbed the tree behind him, hiding herself from view. “Why, Mr. Black, don’t you know the forest is forbidden?”

Sirius had been walking for an hour or so before he realised why they’d never managed to map out this damned forest before. It was not an easy task. In the school, they had corridors and passageways clearly marking the way between rooms and doors. Here there were the odd clearings or caves, but most of the area was, as expected, just covered in trees. Trees were awfully difficult to differentiate and it had taken Sirius a fair while to work a system which this map could understand.
When a voice suddenly came from some unseen source behind him, Sirius squinted up at the branches above him where he could vaguely make out a figure. Autumn nights this far north meant darkness swept over the castle before they’d had much day, and if the grounds were dark – the forest was pitch black. He didn’t recognise the voice and it took a few minutes before he realised his error. Here he was with the most intelligent magic in the school and he wasn’t utilizing it. People shouldn’t be able to sneak up on him whilst he was watching a parchment which documented their every step. Sirius cast a sly glance towards the map which identified his company. Parkinson? He had some knowledge of her. Most likely Slytherin with a name like that, and almost definitely pureblood if he recalled. Sirius carefully tapped away the information on his map and tucked it into his jacket.
“I’ve heard no such rumours,” Sirius said, talking in her general direction. “Seems like you missed the memo yourself.” He walked around the base of the tree, lit his wand and sent a tiny orb of light floating upward to illuminate her features. Not bad. He could probably forgive the sneaking providing she wasn’t some blood fanatic or another deranged ‘fan’. “Do you make a habit of hopping around in the dark or is this just for my benefit?”
[Sorry if it formats oddly I'm on my phone]

“I’ve heard no such rumors, seems like you missed the memo yourself.” With a pause, Sirius sent a tiny orb of light up to Ivy. “Do you make a habit of hopping around in the dark or is this just for my benefit?” Ivy rolled her eyes. “Oh don’t flatter yourself, Mr. Black.” She stretched out on the branch. “I just happened to be passing by.” Well it was partially true at least. She had been walking through the forest, but she could have just passed him by, and instead felt the urge to make contact.
“But what about yourself? Do you make a habit of walking through the forest alone at night? Especially unaware of your surroundings? Tut, tut, Mr. Black. Seems a little risky to me.” Ivy smirked, looking up to where her broom was circling overhead. She spotted a few stars off in the distance and was suddenly more interested in the sky than anything Sirius had to say. She counted the stars she could see until she lost track of whether or not she’d counted them already. She watched, fascinated, as a star zoomed across the sky and out of sight. But the sound of another human’s breathing brought her back to earth and she worked to piece together any responses that had escaped the lips of the young man below her.
